A challenge is a structured activity made up of one or more actions. Completing actions earns points, XP, and sometimes reward assets. Challenges live inside a community — each community designs its own.

The big picture

  • Types — one-off, repeatable, scheduled, journeys, stamp cards, and how they differ.
  • Actions — the individual steps inside a challenge (multiple-choice, image upload, external link, YouTube, achievements, and more).
  • Action wizard — the step-by-step flow you go through to complete a challenge.
  • Participation — starting, progressing, skipping, and abandoning challenges.
  • Recap — the complete screen that confirms your rewards at the end.

Finding challenges

Challenges appear in several places:
  • In-progress challenges sit near the top of the community page so you can resume where you left off.
  • Upcoming challenges are shown in carousels or grids (depending on the community’s layout).
  • Direct links and deep links drop you straight into a specific challenge.
  • The action wizard auto-advances to the next challenge when you finish one, if the community has “suggest next challenge” enabled.

What you earn

Each action and each challenge can distribute points, XP, reward assets, or entries into giveaways. The amounts show on the challenge card and in the action wizard before you start.
If your community has points multipliers active from a Points Boost effect (for example from an XP Multiplier reward you’ve redeemed), the earned amount is boosted automatically for the duration of the effect.

Achievements

Some challenges use achievements as embedded actions — when you complete the challenge you also unlock the achievement. See Achievements.
